2016-17 Breakout Player:

Cosby returns three starters from a 24-7 team district championship team that came within a game of making the state tournament.  They return their leading scorer in Kurry Cody along with two other starters in Isaiah Benjamin and Austin McKeehan.  Key reserves Ty Way and Josh Askew played meaningful minutes for Cosby last season and will be asked to step up into more significant roles and Landon Myers will be counted upon in the post.  The Eagles play a very tough out of conference schedule against the likes of Grainger, Knox Catholic and Cocke County. Having players step and fill roles from players that graduated/transferred will be the make or break factor for this squad in 2016-17.

Coach Flatford says it will be a great season if:

“If reserves from last year like Ty Way, Josh Askew and Landon Myers step up and produce like they are capable of doing. This team must develop some depth. Going to need players like Seth Arrowood, Logan Ford, Kyler McGill and Braden Shafer to provide meaningful minutes throughout the year.

Coach Flatford says it will be a tough season if:

“We encounter injury problems. It will be important for this team to get off to a good start. This team must come to play every night. This team needs leaders on the floor. We do not communicate on the floor like we need to.”
