Every head coach has to get the first job sometime. Neal Leatherwood is happy that his is coming at his alma mater.
Leatherwood was named the Heritage High School boys basketball coach Wednesday, just a few months after he wrapped up the 2016 season as the Mountaineers interim head coach.
“I played here when I was in high school, I’ve coached here and it’s just a big honor for me,” Leatherwood told The Daily Times. “I’ve been around this community a long time, so to be able to stay here and continue to make an impact on the place that’s meant a lot to me for such a long time is something I’m very excited for.
