Glass leaves Indy for AP job at Lebanon

Independence boys’ basketball coach Greg Glass announced his resignation Monday afternoon to accept the role of assistant principal at Lebanon High School in Wilson County.

Glass tallied a record of 102-52 in his five-year tenure as head coach. He guided the Eagles to two District 11-AAA tournament championships, a district tournament runner-up, Region 6-AAA championship, Region 6-AAA runner up, two state sectional appearances and a 2017 AAA State Tournament semifinal appearance. All were firsts in the school’s history.

He also has been serving as the school’s athletic director.

“It has been a pleasure to serve as the head coach at Independence High School,” Glass said. “We accomplished a lot in five years and we accomplished the one goal that I set five years ago and that was to make us relevant in basketball.
